How To Clean Bathroom Sink Drain With Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful cleaning product that can use to clean wounds and break down grease and other biodegradable material like grease and paper that needs extra help to break down.
What You Will Need:
- Hydrogen peroxideÂ
- Boiling waterÂ
Step 1: To use hydrogen peroxide to clean your bathroom sink drain. You will need to pour 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide into the bathroom sink and let it sit for 20-30 minutes so that the hydrogen peroxide can break down whatever is in the sink.
Step 2: Once the 20-30 minutes are up, you now need to pour at least 1 gallon of hot boiling water down the sink drain and let it sit for 10 minutes so that the hot water can finish clearing the drain.
Step 3: Now, you can use the sink as you like. If the sink is still clogged, you can repeat methods 1 and 2 until it is cleared.
How To Clean Bathroom Drain With A Drain Snake
A drain snake is a very important tool that every plumber has in his toolbox or van. A drain snake isn’t that hard to use, and you can use it just like them. I will show you exactly how to clear your bathroom sink drain with it.
What you Will Need:
- Drain SnakeÂ
- Warm Water
Step 1: The first step you need to take is to buy a drain snake on amazon or your local hardware store. When buying a drain snake, you can buy the smallest drain snake you can find because a bathroom sink drain is only a meter or two long.
Step 2: Once you have gotten the drain snake, you need to take it to the bathroom sink drain, then clear everything on the countertop. Pull out the long swirly metal and insert it into the drain and twist it around using the drain snake handle.
Step 3: If the metal swirl isn’t moving, you should twist it more until you feel it hit something. Pull out the long swirly iron and look if to see if it has hair or something else on it. If it has something on it, then the sink is cleared.
Step 4: You can run the faucet to see if the water goes down. If not, continue to twist the drain snake in the sink until it is cleared. If you still do not understand how to use the snake, watch a YouTube video and follow what they are doing.

How To Prevent Bad Sink Drain Smells
Preventing your bathroom sink drain from smelling stinky is quite easy. All you need to do is clean your sink on a regular basis with the cleaning method I will show you below. A bathroom sink drain only starts to smell when water and other things start to settle and build up on the sides of the drain pipe over a period of time. A bathroom drain will take a long time to start to smell.
Things Needed:
- Baking Soda
- Hot WaterÂ
- Drain Snake
- White distilled Vinegar
Step 1: Pour 1 cup of baking soda into the bathroom sink drain. Try shaking it into the drain, where it will spread on the side of the pipes. Add 1/4 cup of vinegar into the drain and let it side for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Pour 1 gallon of hot water into the sink, and the smell should be gone. The vinegar and baking soda should absorb and hide the raw smell of water that is smelling.
Step 3: You can also pour a bottle of lemon or lime juice into the sink, and this will help to slowly remove what is on the sides of the pipes while it runs down the drain. If you think something might be in the drain, use a drain snake and feel around, then check to see if something comes out.
