How Often Should You Mop Your Floors

Mopping and cleaning your floors is one of the most important tasks when cleaning your house. How often should you mop your floors, you may ask! This totally depends on how dirty or if you wear outside shoes on the floors of the house. The floors of your house will get dirt and dust on them because of the constant walking and dust in the house even if the house isn’t used in a long while.

Mapping a floor isn’t that simple. Some people may pour bleach on the floors, wet the mop, and wipe. This method is incorrect and will spread dirt and bacteria even more on your floors. Steps To Take:

1. The first thing you need to do is get your mop bucket and fill it halfway with warm water. If you have used the mop bucket before, ensure you wash it out first.

2. Now, you will need to add disinfectant and half a cup to every 3 gallons of water. People normally mix the disinfectant and bleach together but using the disinfectant first will get you better results. Mixing them both together will weaken each of them.

3. Once you have done all that, you now need to place the mop in the water and mix it around. Do not start wiping the floors. Ensure the floors are clean and vacuumed.

4. If the floors are clean, you can now start to wipe. You need to wipe from the cleanest part of the floors by wiping in a horizontal pattern and flipping the mop to the other side with each wipe. When both sides of the mop head are used, dip it in the water and wash it out and give it a proper squeeze. Do this until the entire floor is moped.

5. Starting from the cleanest part of the floor will prevent you from spreading more dirt over the floor than you would have picked up on a dirty part of the floor.

8. Once you have done that, repeat steps 3,4, and 5, and your floors will be cleaned. Do this on a weekly basis.
