You may be one of those people who know that toothpaste is not just for dental hygiene. Of course, it was made for whitening your teeth and sanitizing your mouth, but it is also a reputable household cleaner.

You might also know that it is best to clean with non- toxic cleaners. The chemical-laden cleaners help to make the air in your home toxic. They help to cause headaches and a lot of medical conditions because of how toxic they are.

Toothpaste was made to be used in the mouth. It is not a natural product. Neither is toothpaste a chemical-free household item. But because we can safely use it for dental hygiene, we know it is safe to use in our homes too.

There are some chemicals that are not dangerous to our bodies, or our environment. The ingredients that makeup toothpaste are not dangerous chemicals. So you can use toothpaste as a household cleaning agent without it polluting the air in your home, and making you sick.

If you would like to ditch your toxic shower cleaning product, toothpaste is an option for you. You can use toothpaste to clean your shower or bathtub. Toothpaste is a whitener and will make your shower, or tub white and clean. You can also use it to clean your basin and get your faucets looking bright.

Clean Headlights

When your headlights are looking dim, use toothpaste to revive them. Make a paste with baking soda and toothpaste. Apply the paste to the lights. Then use a soft cleaning rag or cloth to wipe them clean.

Clean Eye Glasses

You can also use toothpaste to clean your eyeglasses. It can help your lenses to not be so foggy. Apply toothpaste to your glasses, and use a soft cloth to clean off the toothpaste.

Clean Your Shoes

Have some really dirty sneakers? Those white rubber strips around your shoes that have turned cream, or almost brown can be so embarrassing.

Toothpaste can help to restore that white color though. Apply toothpaste, let it soak for a while, then do some brushing. Rinse with water, or just use a cloth to clean up if you want to keep your shoes dry.

Clean Your Tiolet

Squirt some toothpaste in your toilet and use the toilet brush to scrub the toilet bowl. If you do not like to use bleach then you can use this method.

You can even squirt it in the toilet and mix it around and leave it overnight. You can squirt the toothpaste out on the toilet brush and clean places that you couldn’t reach.

Toothpaste is a well- known cleaner for cutlery. Instead of using silver polish on your cutlery, you can use toothpaste to do the cleaning and polishing. Apply the toothpaste, and clean up with a paper towel or a rag.

You do not always have to wait until your cutlery needs polishing to pull out your toothpaste. Freeze toothpaste in an ice tray. Keep the cubes of toothpaste in a bag in your freezer. When washing your cutlery, add some of those cubes to your water.

You can do this about once or twice per week. The toothpaste will help to keep your cutlery looking clean and sparkly.
